ANTIQUE VICTORIAN WEDDING RING.

This is a man's wedding band of the Victorian period c1860-80. It is a large size 10 3/4 with narrow band and top pierced with foliage and a banner with an inscription which we can't make out. Usually these had a Latin word or phrase about fidelity, eternity or such. The scrolls are typical of the Victorian flourishes which became popular and replaced the structured decoration of the rococo period. This is a lovely reminder of a romance long lost to mortality and very suitable for modern wear.
