This one belongs in a bead museum. It is a cylindrical stone bead from the Mezcala culture dating to about the time of Christ. It was worked to a fine cylindrical form, just over 1/2” diameter then drilled from both sides with a cone shaped rod and sand. That produces a hole which is the intersection of two cones and called by antiquarians and archeologists “biconical”. The labor involved to produce this bead is staggering. Imagine picking up a very hard pebble, a small stick and some sand and with nothing more than that, polishing the stone to a uniform shape and drilling a hole through it! This must have been very valuable when it was made. Condition is as shown.
